This project investigates the impact of peer interactions on ethnic/racial minority adolescents' daily health (sleep).

The PAD project is looking for research assistants for data collection in Spring 2018. We will collect daily diary and sleep data from 300 ethnic/racial minority 9th graders in Lansing area. Daily diary data will be collected for 2 weeks. The research team will distribute a tablet and a medical-rated actigraphy for each participant. Participants will report their daily peer experiences every night before going to sleep. They will wear the actigraphy tracking sleep for two weeks. After the 2 weeks, the research team will collect equipment and samples from the participants' home. Participants will be followed up annually throughout high school.

Responsibilities include attend weekly lab meetings, participant recruitment, data collection, data entry and cleaning. RAs will also have opportunities of conference presentations and publications.


GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Flexible schedule, being able to conduct data collection in Lansing high schools during school hours.

At least 5 hours available each week to work on the project (RA)

Students who have a car to drive to schools for data collection are preferred.
