Applied Nematology Undergraduate Research Assistant

The Applied Nematology lab seeks a research assistant for the remainder of spring semester and summer of 2019. This position is lab and field based, with a heavy emphasis on soil organisms and agriculture. No direct experience with nematodes required.

The Applied Nematology team (Department of Entomology) is looking for an undergraduate laboratory assistant to start working in the lab immediately. Responsibilities will include: soil processing and nematode extraction; maintenance of greenhouse plants; field, greenhouse, and growth chamber experimental set-up; and maintaining a clean laboratory work environment. Candidate must be available a minimum of 10 hours per week during the semester and full time for the summer of 2019. Must submit a current CV with references to apply.

Qualifications

Preferred: - Freshman or Sophomore level - A major in entomology, agronomy, fisheries and wildlife, environmental science, zoology, or related field - Experience or interest in agriculture and/or greenhouse crop production

Required: - Available to start immediately and work a minimum of 10 hours per week during the semester - Available to work full time during the summer 2019 field season - Must have a valid driver’s license
