
My advice would be to don't be afraid to reach out to people asking if they have any research opportunities for you, the worst they can do it say no! I would also say to take advantage of any opportunity for research even if it is something that you don't think you would be interested in. Give everything a chance and if you hate it you can stop doing it but there is a possibility you could really enjoy doing something you didn't expect you would.
